  • Good jazz triggers something in the brain that scientists will one day determine is neurobiologically related to crying or having an orgasm.

  • @FrenchPolished that's one of the best comments I've read on YT in a while!

  • Eddie B is in my holy triumvirate of jazz guitar with Herb Ellis and Joe Pass. Amazing.

  • @buddaman1971 sadly, Herb Ellis just died last night, so long live Ed Bickert as the only live one in your triumvirat...

  • Proud to say that drummer is my dad, Buff Allen.

  • I hate when people say things like 'he's so underrated'. How the hell is Ed Bickert underrated? Everyone knows how bad (bad in a good way-as the kids would say today) he is, I don't hear people running around saying "yeah Ed Bickert's ok, but man check out Fieldy from Korn, different instrument, but man that's MUSIC!" Just my rant, don't over-analyze it.

  • You should be proud of your dad--absolutely masterful. Perfect complement for Ed's own mastery.

  • Ed Bickert is GREAT!

  • @victorescallier Like your dad's drumming - love Ed Bickert!

  • Lenny Breau, Ted Greene, and this guy...The only explanation is that there's nothing to do in Canada but play hockey and burn up jazz guitar!

  • What a fantastic guitar player...I never heard of him till You Tube. That's crazy...he's so great.

  • @lukaas0073 I should be, been to busy with other stuff and school to be getting lessons, my older brother is really into Jazz now though, he's in University for it. I'm going University next year and should learn from him before I go into the buisness life haha.

  • He IS totally underrated. I've been playing and listening to jazz for 20 years but I never heard of him until a few weeks ago. Excuse my ignorance!

On second thoughts, perhaps he's not underrated, just completely unheard of around here. That's surprising, considering how good he is.

  • There's a good reason why Ed Bickert is underated....he's Canadian. Jazz guitarists from all over the globe know that he is one of the greatest jazz guitarists in the world. In my opinion, he is the best.
