When she said " Post racial society" she made a gesture with her fingers as if saying "the so-called quote " " post racial society.

So that did not bother me because as blacks most of us know better. But the way she is speaking it in a churchy tone as if we some blacks from 1954 or something is offensive to me

Her hand gestures are irrelevant because that is subject to conjecture ( I didn't see it is finger quotes) but more importantly, because at NO point does she say we are NOT in a post racial society.

Had that actually been her intention she would have SAID it. The point is she sees it as a minor point on her way to what she sees as future issues that the NAACP can hitch their wagon to.

She said "post racial society" in a cynical/sarcastic way and then went on to make the larger point of why the NAACP is still needed rather than dwell on the aforely mentioned tautology. Post racialism being a hoax is subtextual and obvious.

She mentioned that to diffuse the argument that many Whites have made about America being post racial now that we have a Black president and therefore no longer need the NAACP, affirmative action, etc.

@theblackauth0rity have you notice how many people who manipulate blacks or become suspect to blacks end up getting an NAACP and other "black" awards?

They get these awards to sanction what they are doing to us. So when the average apathetic black person notice that he/she isn't right for blacks they get hit in the face with an award thats given to them by the Kings of all black people the NAACP . After the award blacks reconsider their initial assessment and go along with it.

@dantej32 Once we ask for outside help, we become subject to their standards of approval on how we govern ourselves. Always comparing ourselves to other races instead of our OWN standards of living that we want for ourselves. If anything all we should be asking for from other races is respect - they don't have to like us, but they should respect our existence.

@dantej32 I co-sign on everything you just said. We have a lot more economic empowerment than we think if we just free our minds and start networking with each other. I'm doing a social experiment right now, and being more conscious on how I shop for basic things like bar soap, soda pop, shampoo, and snacks.... ONLY WE can give each other jobs, ONLY WE can teach each other self-esteem and BUILD our community up. NOT HAND OUTS from everybody else. Malcolm X knew that.
