Traxxas Stampede (8 cell 9.6v)

I've gathered a bunch of old cells from my pan car days (SCR 1400's circa early 90's) and built a 8 cell 9.6v pack. The truck is running the stock 12T motor along with the XL5 esc. Gearing is stock. I'll mount my GPS onboard and get a true reading of MPH in the near future. Yeah, yeah, I know, old cells vs new updated.......... my old cells in 7.2v hit just as hard as a new IB4600 stick pack. But they only last 1/2 as long.

what is ur runtime in 8 cell lol? how's the motor 12t so far?

Runtime is about the same as a 3000 stick pack I have, my 8 cell packs are built side by side with battery bars. Motor is holding up well, it has about 10 runs on the 8 cell with no decrease in performance. Fun as h*ll!

@demonsparkx if you measure it, it will just hardly fit inside. But your better off goin 6 on the bottom and 2 side by side on the top where the 7th cell usually goes. instead of the slash style where the 2 on top go end to end.

Can u please post up a picture of how your battery is a video or somthing maybe itd really help,is it like a regular stick hump pack sytle? 3 side by side,like a 6 cell stick and one on top? I have a xl5 stampede rtr. Im confused on how a double top hump pack would fit in the battery tray.

Yeah the xl5 is maxed at 9.6... The titan 12t really needs 9.6 for max performance
