@fromwilliams BRUTAL CUSTOMS = A 911 call right here on youtube, when this poor muslim girl is screaming out "Im dying! Im dying!" and dies b4 the emergency crew get to her & you want to know why? Again, her own father killed her plus her sister for speaking to (non- muslim) boys at school. So plz dont pull that "Africans are ignorant" card on me, Ive heard it all and then some, its what COWARDS say to Africans to make themselves feel better about their own sense of inferiority complex.

@ignoranceisbad Ayaan Hirsi Ali should be awarded for her effort to make this film with the late Theo van Gogh who got murdered because of this film. Seems to me that some muslims do not want to hear the truth about the reality of life of some Islamic women.

Instead of focusing so much on covering the woman, y don't muslims focus on teaching young men to control their sexual desires, so that women can enjoy the same freedoms men do? After all, women can b attracted to men just as much..so if u cover women, cover men too, that would make it fair! I mean..come on, we live in the 21st century. Not all men r pervs, and those that are, won't care if a woman is covered or not, if they want to do something to her, they will..as Ayaan very well shows here.

lol The truth is, To each their own. This film portrays "a" view out of various other views. A view that focuses on only the negative perspectives. She's presented nothing but herself as innocent, and in the end, don't all present the same. Don't we all give rationals? I believe this woman was never even a Muslim to begin with. Ayan Hirsi lied about herself (when seeking refuge in Netherland) and when her lies got caught the government excluded her. what credibility does Ayan Hirsi has left?

As a Muslim woman I feel shocked to see this, but also annoyed that every person that watched this video now thinks that this is the life of the Muslim woman. These are ignorants and wife beaters...people who have no morals or conscience that would treat a woman in such a way. This is insanity. It does not represent how I grew up, and reading the book "Infidel" most of the time I felt like Ayaan was speaking of a Somalia from another dimension. I have not seen or experienced any such thing.

THERE SHOULD BE A LAW FORCING ALL WOMEN TO COVER THERE BODYS IN ALL COUNTRYS THIS WILL PROTECT THEM FROM SEX FREAKS
F
Nice film. Portrays corruption in, the dysfunctionality of, and the oppression by society towards women. The scenario is very realistic, and is a good way, I feel, at showing awareness of abuse et al. However, this isn't really an insult to Islam itself, but as to how it is used by people to mistreat others. The woman's uncle's actions would clearly not be acceptable, under the Koran, yet her father defends him. In the end, I believe the woman is the better Muslim. People should understand
