Buddy recorded live for a BBC Parkinson special shortly before he died. He is as always on top form. A one off legend as anyone who has seen the Buddy rich tribute scholarship dvd will testify to where supposed great drummers of our time try to emulate the master which is frankly embarrasing .....enjoy. The full interview is now available through ebay if anyones interested in a Dvd of the complete 40 minute show including an extensive career spanning interview then please get in touch.

  • Well i watched Virgil Donati and thought he was good but not a patch on Buddy and he didnt even have a tupee to contend with while he was playing his solo.

  • anyone who has watched the Buddy rich scholorship tribute show will surely realise whether young or old that there was only 1 buddy rich and no one comes a close second he will always be one of a kind

  • We have heard of Buddy, and were ignorant of his gift, only after he died... good illustration in developing realistic goals is Peter Erskine,, If he has apositive impact on the percussionist just listen to Erskine..

  • Buddy Rich.. What can one say? He's simply the best drummer of the 20th century! No, infact, he's the best ever! Never seen or heard anyone that can beat him.

  • Buddy set the stardard that every other drummer tries to emulate, but will never come close. There has yet to be anyone who has come close to his speed, technicallity, or precision of the drum kit as him. It takes a true drummer to understand and appreciate this!

  • @alrisden where you dropped on your head as a baby dude cuz you sound like a fucking retard bye noob

  • @4against1 "yeh i dojnt know" - Your credentials are a little lacking,.small one. btw: drums don't reproduce. Reproduce means, "make more of"" It's a hard word. I would say look it up, but I doubt you have the resources to do that. Hey doper – that was referencing your “fu**ing drums” comment. I’m also sure you didn’t make the connection.

  • This show is amazing. had it on VHS, then on DVD. It was recorded very shortly before Buddy died and was broadcasted on BBC after his death as a Tribute.

  • yeh i dojnt know who buddy ricks is but i know for a fucking fact that travis can own him on the fucking drums

  • @madamerotten there already is. Virgil Donati
