Fully compatible with your existing 2D subtitle files, each subtitle position is recorded into the original file without the need to produce multiple versions.

Using a dual machine work environment, the subtitler or stereographer can integrate 3D media using the 3D encoder and stereoscopic player software. Using the 3D connexion controller subtitles can be positioned quickly and easily.

DEPTH MAPPING

When creating subtitles for 3D media setting the z position (front to back position) is a time consuming task.

Even with a 3D display and controls to move the subtitle text in all three axis (X,Y and Z) judging the relative depths of different objects and positioning the subtitle text appropriately is difficult.

It is not always obvious what the relative positions of objects are and trying to position text this way can cause significant eye strain.

To speed up this process a depth (or more correctly disparity) map can be used. This is generated from the source 3D master video and results in a map of the relative position of all the sections of the image on a frame by frame basis.

Once the map is created the data can be used to assist the positioning of text, graphics and subtitles over 3D media, even to automate the process in some cases.
