Here is a very simple sequence running into the new Dave Smith Instruments MoPho so we could scroll through some presets. This is a bad little synth. The sub-oscillators make for a super beefy low end and the internal sequences are inspiring right out of the box. Deeper soon!

  • is that 100% analog ?

  • @Cutrexxx Yes, the audio signal path is.

  • Dave smith is a genius!

  • When it comes to designing and building great, yet affordable analog synths, he truly is!

  • So what does that red push it button do after all?

  • The red Push It button is a manual trigger. If you do not have a MIDI keyboard connected, you can use this button to play the sounds and sequences.

  • @bigcitymusic my M-Audio Uno USB-to-MIDI will work to transmit MIDI data, won't it? btw it would be so ironic if there was a midi issue with a Dave Smith Instrument lol

  • great demo - thanks. funny thing is, the unit sounds infinitely better than this video, because the pristine sweet analog tone has been digitized and downgraded by youtube. hear one in person and you'll be inspired.

  • it sounds just like any 1990´s synth to me and monophonic... like the monotron (monotron sounds better and its cheaper... me thinkssss)

geee, I am looking for an analog synth and all I listen to on youtube sounds like modern plastic crap....

I need help - can spend only less than 600 euro.

  • How many programs / parts can this play at once? Just 1, or can you layer several? Thanks.

  • @Keetjeboersma You can send midi through most external audio interfaces. I use the M-AUDIO fast track pro MIDI Out and a MIDI cable to connect LIVE to external synths.

  • please help me on this one

what device is the midi IN coming from?

wanna buy the same in combination with a roland usb audio interface, but am not quite sure what connections ill have tomake..

    help me out here!

I want to get a usb audio interface which i can lead the mopho thru as well as attach mic and an extra FXbox to.. and all should be able to be linked with ableton LIVE 8

so what should i look out for. what kind of connections should the usb interface have?

    anybody?

  • I was wondering, since the Mopho Module doesn't have a USB conection like the Mopho Keyboard, how can I update its OS in case there is one ? Also can I store edited sounds on the module or do I neceseraly need to save them on the Editor on my Computer ?

  • Can you edit the sequences that the puch it button does?

  • Juicy
