I went to an off road show the other day and saw a fx 600 that's a bad ass truck

yeah the shifting sucks mine isnt bad thow i dont shift to second until like 60mph way diffrent from the other ford f150's i seen

Ford made em short shift to try and get more gas mileage out of them. Once you get a decent tune, its like night and day.

nice area - reminds me of SE kentucky... as for the truck, they're nice, just wish ford and GM both had kept offering manuals in their full size ones... :(

no offence to your dad or anything, but when he ordered that truck it looks like he did everything wrong....solid color all around (not two tone), column shift, grey cloth, and it almost seems like the engine is straining to pull it. the new FX4 Ecoboosts are very nice.

@stopscrewingaround11 this truck wasn't ordered and was actually one of the most expensive F-150 on the lot out of the 42 they had...we got it when Ford was doing the employee discount for everyone so we got it about $6000-7000 off the msrp, hence why it isn't a "perfect" FX4 (believe me, I would have ordered it the same way you think it should have been)

Man the engine sounds strained and looks like it has no low end power at all. Then again this is a truck and not a sports car, could be the transmission set up for towing instead of acceleration. Does your dad have any intentions of getting a 09+? They are much improved and the new engines and 6-speeds have a lot more power and get noticeable better gas mileage then the old ones

@640101vh yeah I'm really hoping he replaces it with an EcoBoost F-150....I can't stand the powertrain in this one
