This is the first of a series of short videos to warn visitors to the Isle of Wight of the obvious dangers that the local authorities choose to turn a blind eye to, that can only lead to avoidable tragedies.

This is concerning the sea wall at Puckpool, Ryde. There is no barrier along the length of the sea wall which at low tide has an over 10 foot drop onto the beach at high tide the drop is into the sea, these pictures were not taken at high tide but at about two hours after. During rough weather the waves crash onto the wall throwing water, along with stones some of which can be at least four inches across, over it. Apart from the danger of both falling off the wall you can also be hit by the flying stones.

There are no warning notices whatsoever.

Another great danger here is that this path is also used constantly by cyclists there is one small mention that this is not allowed, at the end of a list of other things, at one end of the wall. This is totally ignored and a constant stream of bikes use the path day in day out adding to the hazards for the legitimate users, added to this there are blind stairwells emerging onto the path at intervals with walls at six feet high so you can walk out to be confronted with a bike speeding towards you.

You know in the 100,000 views of my vids on YT I have seen many pathetic and childish comments but yours just about takes the biscuit. I only wish i could be present when your parents finally have had it with you and kick your spoilt faggot arse out, so I could watch that arse getting kicked in the real world. Your blocked you juvenile wanker so keep off my videos.

  • aint it common sense anyway when your near the edge of a sea wall to be careful???

  • @superiorcultivator Well if that is the case why have other sea-walls, with only a three feet drop, got barriers? ie the continuation of this sea wall all the way to Appley park has barriers. Very reassuring to a parent whose young child whose child has just fallen ten feet onto the beach that the child hadn't shown common sense.

  • hmmm..... that seems intense.. dont think i wanna go there

  • Geez that is very dangerous.

We are coming on a family holiday to the UK in a couple of months and were intending to visit the Isle of Wight.

If this is a demonstration of how safety concerns are regarded there we will not be doing so, thats for sure.

    Thanks for sharing this.
