  • wing flexing? um i think those are the flaps retracting.

  • Around 2:25, observe the wingtips. They are most definitely bending up and down.

  • wow look at the wing at 3:34 the wing is lifting it up !

  • You guys leave no room for mystery as to the flexibility of the birdy's wings even on the ground. Thanks for both your inputs :D

  • Did your flight have personal tvs yet what color was your plane Ive been on a 747-400 from JFK to ICN they had personal tvs and there new exterior color

  • This flight was about a year and a half ago, so the livery was the old brownish colour, and it didn't have PTV's unfortunately. But the service was still superb even for economy class along with a reasonable price. I recommend this airline to anyone who travels to or through South Korea in the future :)

  • @student5669 That's a good thing. Brittle wings would be most...unfortunate.

  • this wing movement is called wing flexing... and its not unusual.... very normal

  • haha when i was younger i was on a KLM flight and when we landed the wings lifted and i starting screaming/crying because i thought the plane crashed. the passengers around be thought i had a mental illness.

  • Very nice vid !!

  • Looks like one of the pilots just bumped the controls. At that point they where not moving fast enough for the Ailerons to have any effect what so ever. and at this point all steering would be done with the nose wheel.

  • sorry to be a pain. im on about when the crosswind pushes the wings up as the 747 is turning. At 3:54 watch the Ailerons and slats pitching up to push the wing down so the engines on the right side dont get too close to runway floor as the crosswind is pushing the left wing up quite high. hope i made sense there :)

  • Ahh Okay, I thought you where talking about when it was in the air. It's stil flexing though, just from the forces of the aircraft bouncing up and down (Kind of like taking a thin metal yard stick and induce ocilations at one end, the force rolls down the yard stick.

Same principal. The entire wings don't flex, because the weight of the fuel in the wing tanks, so it is more noticeable at the tips, that don't contain fuel.
