http://haidukpress.com/ Men who love are Gods, their friendship is the road to Heaven. Uncensored now for the first time since antiquity, this is the message that the original myth of Zeus and Ganymede communicated to its hearers more than two thousand years ago. It is an example of the ancient teachings on love that guided males towards a love that was ethical as well as passionate..... "A truly fine piece of work" — Sir Derek Jacobi (commenting on the narration).....
"It is a work of great devotion, and scholarly as well." — Vern Bullough .....
The myth of Zeus and Ganymede has many identities, one of which is an ancient Cretan teaching myth, showing the way to an honorable love between males. The power of love raises the beloved to the level of his more experienced lover, and confirms his manhood.

  • Thank you for the wonderful video. The story of Ganymede is one of my favorite Greek Myths, but I rarely ever hear it told so well, (if at all). Which is probably due to the fact that so many people are uncomfortable with this kind of subject (as evinced in some of the ridiculous comments I’ve read on this page). I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this video in what I thought would be another fruitless search for info on Ganymede.

  • @jdlgrishanne People are uncomfortable with anything that takes them off the beaten track. If you google "conformosexual" you will find a piece this author recently wrote discussing just this kind of sexual anxiety and the mind numbing vicious circle that perpetuates it.

  • @create4self any educated person knows that male / male sex as well as female / female sex are part of African history. The Azande warriors had boy wives with whom they had frontal sex, the kings of Buganda had pages they took from behind, the South African tradition of women taking girls as lovers has survived to the present day, and let's not write off all the other African nations that never had recorded traditions or whose traditions have been destroyed by colonialism. They are human too.

  • @koolios4 second that LOL

  • ...Gaymede.

  • I once had a older men tell me he was Zesus and I was his Ganymede, I was so stricken romantically by him saying this to me. I felt beyond head over heels for him not evening truly knowing him, why can't younger guys understand if you use your brain and mythology you can get anyone you want.

  • So in this story the Trojan War is caused by Hera's insane jealousy towards Ganymede, but in the original story of the Trojan War it was Eris who sent Paris to Greece to abduct Helen. Am I misinterpreting this?

  • Beautiful <3

  • I am the son of Zeus, Father Asthetics

  • Omg! My sign has the most epic myth!!! So awesome!

  • @thegorillasnake OH SNAP!!! HAHAHAHA

  • @NiNjAlIcIoUs100 Loads of the ancient Greek male gods were bisexual and had male lovers; just a few examples are Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Apollo, Eros, Zephyr and plenty more.

  • when did Zeus become gay? i cannot imagine the fact that the gods were to turn gay?
