Wildlife Forever teams up with the North
American Fishing Club and our other partners to produce our first television show: Silent Invaders. A quick moving information series on invasive species and what you can do to help protect you favorite waters. This is episode 3 covering the destruction of fisheries by Asian carp.
@KellyThundercloud This kind of fish have survived and are still on the dinner table for more than 2 billion Asians during the past decades. They won't gone. The best way is to eat them to control the fish population. We should learn to enjoy the nature resource, and use it to make our dinner better.

I don't see why we don't wipe the section of the water column in which these fish reside! Granted, this would probably kill more than just the carp, but in my opinion this is just a small price to pay...

@KellyThundercloud - You're correct and this is how the Fed's look at it too. This is why they won't put money into Philippes solution and we're only allowed to capture the fish for export.

@arienrode - not organizations like Chef Philippe. He understands the problem and has a solution, but he (we) need the money to see it through.

@ryfitz96 We can't get too comfortable with eating them though. If they go on the market, there will be constant demand for them. Once they are gone from the river systems, we can't continue raising them because it is too risky!

Study for ten years?? You could have got rid of them in half that time if you didn't waste it all on extensive studying!!!!! Don't plan for years, ACT NOW! If they get into the Great Lakes, it will almost be impossible to rid them.

@arienrode right, suppressing an invasive species by introducing another foreign species is a great idea.

Asain carp are good eating. People are scarred to eat them because they have the word carp like common carp. Common carp are disgusting to eat full of mercury due to bottom feeding. Asain carp feed off of plankton on the top of the water and are quite delicious and a delcousy around the world. Asain carp are not carp at all
