I had an uncle that was a bush pilot in Alaska. These are the pictures that were past down to me. I never got to know him, but the pictures did help to inspire me to start flying. Ironically the only time he ever stopped in for a visit, I was out flying and missed him. I did google his name(Larry Rost,Alaska) and got a strange hit.Cryptozoology?

  • After talking to you about the Navy plane I remembered no Navy but Coast Guard or C.A.P coastal. This is a Sikorsky S-39A. If the tail number is correct NC806W this is serial number 908, they started the serials at 900. This is possibly now G-ABFN and restored in the UK.

  • Looks to me like this is a Stinson Reliant from the 40's

  • cool vid :)
