there is a video of a pentecost service here recorded in 2011 on youtube
which shows you the height of the ceiling as the video shows the chancel crossing.

A ringer from Hertfordshire called John McCutehon warned me several years ago about problems of ringing here ie if you are not experienced enough. I only ring now and again due to after effects of my surgery.
I do past this church on a Thursday on way on the 636 on way to bowling.

At least you kept it right! : )

The tower doesnt look very big from the outside...or is that a misleading picture? Or does it actually look higher inside than outside?
What are they like to ring? Do they fly? (It wouldntsurprise me!!!)

You're right, the tower looks quite squat from the outside. It's a bit misleading as the draught is long. The bells must be near the top of tower, I would imagine.
I would say that the bells are fine apart from the draught. They sound very pleasant and go well.

@gunsmalone OK. REALLY FLIGHTY? Or do you just need a tightish rope for them to be OK
Have they got guides?

Well, I suppose it's all relative... Perhaps they could be described as "really flighty". I think pulling straight is more important than a tight rope.
There are no guides between you and the ceiling.

some say, the draught is so long, that it can be seen from space. some say that it is longer than a maybach, whilst others are not so sure.
all we know is, it's called wheathampstead.
