Best watched in FULL SCREEN mode.
Also use the start/stop button to compare individuals.

My worms' goal is to reach the clicked target(not very visible sorry) in the least distance. Obviously the walls are impassable.

The population consists of a mear 20 members which stays constant.
Each line is the gene itself which consists of line segments.
The members are sorted, then semi-randomly mated with the 1st and 2nd best individuals getting lucky most often.
This is followed by mutations which occur for constant 10% of the population with a varying mutation(2%-6%) rate for the genes.

Each gene is read like a string anchored at one location. Each gene element specifies a distance {x,y} to travel from the co-odinates of the previous element.

I am showing only the most fit individual of each generation to keep the screen less cluttered.
Notice as I click the screen in various locations (establishing new targets).

Things to watch for:
Evidence of Punctuated Equilibrium when I initiate a goal that is far from the current one.
Similarity of worms near any given generation (especially toward the end where I go through an extended period of slow change).

Notice also no solution evolves to perfection in the time frames invovled.
I've not had any versions of this which accomplished both goals perfectly(even when allowed to run for days)
Notice if you will, the slowdown at 1:17 - 1:26
It can take evolution a while to find a way to jump out of a bad solution.

This program was written in Euphoria.

There was intelligent design in this program. Computer hardware is specificly engineered so that it ONLY runs intelligently designed programs. As for the randomness, it only change how LONG evolution took, not whether it took place.

  • So where are the atheist schools...there's a zillion god indoctrination centres, can't think of a nasty atheist school

  • @sitwosaints People are only atheists because theists need to single out those who do not think as they do. Then again, this has nothing to do with the video I posted.

  • @damianpoirier Sweet Pea, "There Really Is A God." GO SEEK HIM BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

Answer to your diatribe: So that you will be without excuse on Judgment Day. I LOVE YOU!!!

  • @damianpoirier Do what? 8=~

  • @SwordofSpirit1 What blatant proofs are those? (Note: please don't bother with arguments from incredulity)

  • i don't believe in god but i find it funny how atheists say they hate it when the religious ppl preach and try to push there beliefs on others when many atheists do the same i say everybody just accept the other and stop wishing harm on the other because wouldn't that make u the same as the one u hate on

  • @damianpoirier Too true. But you it cant be said what it is. That would be like fire trying to burn itself or trying to chew your own teeth!

  • @SwordofSpirit1 "Who Cares about the Toe?"

You might as well say "who cares about truth?"

  • @SwordofSpirit1 This is a video about evolution. Why are you discussing your preferred god here?

  • @damianpoirier I do.
