How about osteonecrosis? They don't tell you about that side affect. This crippling bone disease is veiled as "bone pain" on the pharmacy sheets and you won't know you have it until your bone starts to fracture and cause pain. If your joints hurt, DEMAND a MRI (it doesn't show up on regular x-ray until in the later stages). It can remain dormant in the body for 3, sometimes 10 years later after your last does of Pred. Finding it early stage 1 or 2 and surgery can prevent joint replacement.

Why do some people blame prescription drugs for everything that has ever happened to them? I ate an apple and then tripped on the stairs, so apples cause uncoordination. I took off my shoes and stubbed my toe, bare feet causes foot trauma.

im taking 75 mg of prednisone high dose b/c of my kidneys and im concerned because im experiencing a lot of hair loss is this temporary or permanent??? My doctor will put me on a lower doses soon will that help with hair loss??

Hair loss? I'm sure it's listed in the side effects somewhere but it's not very common. If you are female I'd get a thyroid function test. For men, finasteride 1mg is good.

I cant beleive my doctor gave my this crap for poisen ivy. I would rather roll in poisen ivy and let it go away natrually then be on this drug.,

Try being on the crap for 5 years starting at 5. i gaind 100 pounds i got sick constantly and when they cut me off becuase of my sever weight gain.i may be tall but but thats still alot. my asthma never improved it just got worse because my lungs where so dependent on it so i almost died.3 days after they weind me off it. they need to make a cure for astmuh not a suppresent .if you have a choice dont take it its great for shot term but never take it long term. it hurts more than it helps.

I went to the doctor for only my sinus problem and because of my ring worm i had on my thigh thats all i went for they gave me nasal spray and Omnicef and Cetirizine Last on is Prednisonen i took them all in one day i had a weird expriance i got realy tierd sleeped my heart was beating realy fast i was hearing some noise in my right ear like being slaped i play sports alot and eat healthy but dam i had such a bad mood that i felt like beating somone i was getting paranoid i only tried it once

this shit works. but the first thing it does to you is acne and restlessness and weight gain. i didn't mind the weight gain part though because i was underweight due to my health problem.

This drug saved my life and continues to give me quality of life. I have side effects but I can function - I was much worse off before it. I have taken low dose corticosteroids for 40+ yrs resulting in HPA Axis/exogenous-adrenal insufficiency/atrophy. I take DHEA with it. I understand why prednisone is considered the worst wonder drug but it has made a difference in my life. Doctors prescribe this often in ignorance -- be informed before you take it and NEVER take it unless you have no choice.

I was diagnosed with Prednisone after having increased swelling and rashes all around my eyes and facial area. After the first four days, I began to grow more and more arm, leg and facial hair. The poison ivy has not been cured yet... What do I do?

i got prednisone for poison oak, but I have no reason to dislike it. Anything beats the pain of poison oak................
