A bit of video from a hunt in the spring of '09 into the Whataroa area for chamois. As in often the case in Westland, the weather presented challenges, and we had to adapt our plans accordingly. We shot several animals on this trip, all over the 9" mark.

  • Nice one Battson. How big were they Chamois?

  • @nzhunter11

The one shown with the damaged horn was 9.5", the other was 9" even.

  • Great effort, fantastic scenery. You really should get one of those tiny tripods I use, would do wonders to your images.

  • @sierra645: Yeah I think you've sold me on the idea TH, but the trick is finding a place to put it, where you can see over the scrub! :P

  • Cheers.

That's my mates rifle, his first ever - and that was his first chamois too. It's a Savage .270 with a Leupold scope.
