Flight from Daytona Beach to Indianapolis in a Lancair 360. This Lancair cruises at 205 knots (236 mph) on only 10 gallons an hour. The aircraft is outfitted with XM Weather, a dual axis autopilot, IFR certified GPS and much more. This video was shot with the Canon 5D Mark II SLR (1080P).

  • Small world, I have the same plan, and as of a few months ago, my bro in law now has exactly the same camera. We're planning a trip along the Hudson to get some footage of NYC. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

  • @coma13794 Cool, it will help if he has a wide angle lens. I photographed this with the Canon 16-35mm F2.8L at 16mm. Send me a link when you get some video on-line.

  • the image quality is amazing, and I don't have HD capabilities on my computer.

A quality lens makes all the difference, it seems.

  • It's the camera and lens, read below!

  • 1920x1080 ? this is 1080p no ?

  • Yes, it was recorded in full 1080P (1920 x 1080 progressive). But, I believe YouTube converts it to 720P. So the actual footage is better than you're seeing here (even when HD is selected). Plus the actual footage looks awesome on a 50 inch plasma.

  • Mmmm Im weary of Lancair after a 15 year helicopter test pilot veteran died after crashing because of a failed engine at 400 feet after take off at my home airport (Brand new Lancair Evo Turbo)

  • looks like you cant be a big guy to fly in a lancair does it?

  • That is what being a pilot is all about. Sometimes you get so caught up with the instruments, radios and flying the airplane, that you forget to just sit back and look out the window.

  • appears as though alot of people are more intrested in the camera than the plane.

    great plane...

    and quality

  • Incredible visibilty through that canopy

  • Amazing! The cockpit of this aircraft is just awesome! Great videoquality as well!

  • Very nice quality video, and appears to be such a pristine Lancair! Great job!

  • If you really feel that way, I suggest you support your local small airport.
