  • Thomas Dolby reminds me of a lyric from Rush's "Spirit of the Radio".: "all this machinery making modern music can still be open hearted. Not so coldly charted. It's really just a question of your honesty."

Thomas Dolby was his own kind of genius. He used a lot of midi mixed with real instruments. Of course he also played piano quite well and all the bass parts are played by him in keys. A musician making music.

My how things have changed. You don't even have to know how to play anymore.

  • The best videos were made in the 80's. Period.

  • Way before ADD/ADHD was prescribed with drugs like ritalin...

    Let the music speak !!!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • A sublime surrealist vision of Dolbydom genius and humour. Blowing psychiatrists out of their lets put everything and everyone in boxes mentality and the visuals of flipping layers of boxes revealing conceptualisations from the self. Also out of work actor lightbulbs were given standard equity rates to appear in this video. :-) from surrealist visual artist jasmine

  • Thomas Dolby is a genius.

  • LOCO LINDO ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ......................CRAZY CUTE ¡¡¡¡¡¡ jajajajajajaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • funky baseline!

  • @iberia77 You must love I Live in a Suitcase too. There's a segment in that which totally blows me away every time I hear it from 3:40 onward ("I found the North Pole, in a field of ice... and in a land of dreams, I found you there"). It gives me the most severe goosebumps every time I hear it after nearly 20 years. It's things like that make me think Thomas Dolby is one of the best, if not *the* best modern composers/musicians of our age. It's a pity hardly anyone will recognise that.

  • Great song and a fantastic music video!

  • 0:27 to 0:36 blows my mind on this track. Original, totally unique and 100% fresh after 26 years.......
