Summer got into Brown, Seth didn't. But he didn't want her to miss the opportunity to go to Brown, he broke up with her so that she thought he didn't want her and Brown anymore.

This part is so sad!! Summer gets in to Brown but Seth doesn't and he tries so hard to get in calling them after.... so he tells Summer that he's not sure if Brown is the right school for him and she tells him its over! You can tell that Seth really does love Summer but doesnt know how it will work out!

yes you are right!he was scared to tell her the truth and so he brok up with her...because he wants that summer goes to brown without him.
