In this second half of the tutorial, I will go over how to link tables together in what is called a "One to many" relationship. For instance, a project that has multiple people assigned to it. DO NOT USE REPEATING FIELDS. Instead, create a second table and link the people to the project table. Watch and learn :)

  • I have an issue I cannot quite find the answer for. I have 2 tables.

    SCHEDULE (ID,DATE, TIME,LOCATION,HOME_TEAM, AWAY_TEAM)

    TEAMS (ID,TEAM_NAME)

I want to create a Layout for the TEAM and have a portal that shows the schedule for that team in Chronological order but I cannot get the relationship link right. I can obviously link team to home team and the portal shows all home games or link it to away team and it will show all away games. How do I link it to show ALL games?

  • what i dont want.. People going on and on and on about one thing. All i want is a fst way to find out to do it to finish my homework,. but finally soemone done it thanks so much. :P

  • it's easy

    thank you :)

  • that, my dear listener, is a matter of logic. it's too broad of a question to answer without knowing the exact structure you want to create.

  • But how do we figure out what relationship to link to what.... please help

  • a Film production database- have a "PROJECTS table" and a "CREW table".

PROJECTS layout I have setup 6 day shoot. Each day has 2 film crews at different location. 20 positions need to be filled per unit (40 crew members a day!) Many fields in PROJECTS per position / per day (240 individual slots) with a relational drop down menu from my Crew table..it all works and I can select a producer/dp..etc. However, the portal setup back on CREW table doesn't show projects Ive selected them in.
