Some people were wondering how to play this riff properly so I have done it slowly. The key is to keep the timings for the hammer-ons and pull-offs constant. Try to avoid using your 4th finger as it makes the hammer from the 16th to the 17th fret far harder. It sounds better if you use a thick gauge on the D string, but it is harder.....your choice. Sorry about the sounds of the pick on the string. When you record close up it cant be avoided.

  • there are no hammer ons and pull offs, it's alternate picked the whole way. keeps the dynamics constant, which you need for a riff like this.

  • @rafayealmeida aye, but it's most commonly known from wembly.

  • @Boarderforlife15

    It's not just from Wembley.

Mehh, I don't bother with any hammer ons or pull offs. I just pick it all the way. But that's just me.

  • @EJRocky ok yeah i see what you mean. but im confused now as to where hes pulling off, cuz when i play it i just pick and hammeron.

  • Se he's not tremolo picking as such, just picking fairly fast. It's a real test of coordination between your two hands. I wish I could explain it better than I did, but I reckon this video does a good job. Watch both of his hands during the slow version, 0:02 onwards.

    Best of luck :)

I suppose - when you get the riff up to speed, you will be pretty much doing tremolo picking. But what I'm saying is, don't pick, like, mega super fast at random - coordinate it with those notes.

See from 0:02 to 0:16 - he plays it slow. He picks each individual note. You're meant to do this slowly at first and build up speed, so it's all coordinated, and eventually you'll end up with the full speed version he plays after.

  • @EJRocky but im looking and i think i see this guy tremolo picking... am i wrong?

  • easy riff to do at a slow speed but trying it to full is the fun part i cant do it yet i keep gettin confused when im doing it great great riff tho and prob muse's toughest track to play , wel i think this is anyways

  • Ahh! Still can't get it. This riff is so hard
