  • Is the bird light blue? If so i have the exact same bird!

  • @cdwc25 Yes he is light blue :)

  • He's so awesome! I have two males both around 8 months, one of them looks the same as Dalai. :) The one that looks like Dalai is the most tame and copies a squeaky noise that I do, but nothing else as of yet. I heard that if you have 2 or more budgies there's only a small chance of learning to talk? Also, how old is he?

    Thanks!

  • Yes, I have heard that if you have two they are less likely to talk. But we got a second budgie after Dalai and he talks a bit, so it can happen. I think Dalai taught him a few of the words. Dalai is 4 years old now. He started saying a few things at about 6-8 months old. I worked at home so I had lots of time to talk with him.

  • blatently you making these noises

  • you made it lern shave and a haircut today :D

  • Just get a guide book to learn how to feed them, clean thier cage every other day (very easy), fresh water every day, seed every other day. If you want to train one to talk just buy one & speand LOADS of time with him, if just as a pet get 2 for company - they will be constantly amused this way if ur away. I prefer English breed budgies myself - bigger and prettier. Get a nice big cage & a bird bath, mirror, cuttlefish, swing etc. a slice of apple as a treat on occaision and a millet stick.

  • As for diet - Pellets are the healthiest thing to feed a bird. Mine won't eat pellets so he is on a seed diet (fairly cheap), but I have to give him vegetables and vitamins because seeds don't have enough nutrients. As for cage size, that is up to you and depends on how often they would get out of the cage. Still, for two birds I would get a slightly bigger cage than the standard starter cage for budgies. Hope this helps.

  • They make great pets. I would recommend buying two if you are often away from home during the day. They need the company. However, they are more likely to talk if you have just one. But if you have just one, they require a lot more of your attention. They are not expensive. If possible, get one from a breeder at a young age. They are more easily tamed. I had Dalai's wings clipped when I first got him so I could tame him. But I let them grow back so he could fly again.

  • I'm thinking of buy one or maybe two, what do u think, If I was to buy two which I want to, is that a good idea or bad idea. and how are these bird temperment are they rough to deal with at first, are they expensive on food and what kind of food do you feed this kind of bird. And if I do get two what is recommended size of the cage to buy. I hope to hear from u soon.

  • That would me male.
