American history is so much more than dates and documents — it's the dynamic story of the real men and women, immigrants and Native Americans, who together built our country. Disneys The American Presidents is a fresh and relevant narrative (developed with a former producer of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report) about the men who led this country through change and the lives they affected, from an early idea of democracy to our first African American President.

Each DVD includes short-form Presidential biographies, era overviews for historical context, and thematic segments such as The Making of the Presidency and We the People. The DVD content is based on National Curriculum Standards and features interviews with political luminaries such as Sam Donaldson, Wesley Clark, Paul Begala, Melissa Harris-Lacewell and many more. Try the interactive whiteboard content on every DVD — its an exciting, competitive game that uses video clips, photographs and quotes to test students understanding of the Presidents, their political positions, and why they matter in the American story.

This first volume in the series covers the first 11 presidents!

  • I'm pretty sure i learn more from these 5 minute videos that i do in my 45 minute APUSH classes....

  • Like Father like son John Quincy Adams did the same things his dad did and was hated because of it and this is noted he is a skinny dipper he was caught by the press naked in the Potomac and was told he would not get his cloths back until he got an interview.

  • JQA was simply one of the best forefathers of this country. This video tells you that his fellow constituents disagreed with JQA's agenda. What they DON'T tell you is he was shunned because he was an abolitionist. That's right - when Abraham Lincoln was only 16 yrs old, JQA was fighting to abolish slavery in America.

He was driven out of the Presidency, then went on to the house to continue his fight and literally died on the floor in the hse. He was and always will be a great American.

  • @TheHumanFiction im 11 and i am mad that i did not find information im looking for the 6th president of The United States Of America

  • This is asinine. Children in JQA's day would have deeply read primary sources, learned Latin and Greek, etc. Not watched entertaining videos parading as education.

  • Jackson ran for president those 4 years after he lost thus Quincy did not try and persuade the voters to his side as you heard his quote he was miserable anyway. Jackson was a man of fire who was not going to take an insult lightly and he felt betrayed more than anything. Jackson had a deep seeded hatred for the British as well and was the only president ever to pay off our national debt...

  • @thenight106 what did you use to download the video for the project? because im going to use it for a project i just dont know what to use to download it because there are like 34069380683 websites for it!

    Please help asap!
