I had just seen these guys in port townsend the previous weekend at the festival of american fiddle tunes. I enjoyed them so much there and I was really pleased to find out they would be playing again near my home town. They performed a couple of sets at lake meridian park near Kent courtesy of the city of kent. THANK KENT !! And thank you Red Stick Ramblers.......This was the closing number. Sorry I don't know the name but perhaps someone will help me out here. On this one I really liked the dual fiddles and was reminded also of how much I enjoyed Linzay Young's vocals. He was good on this number and his voice is featured on many of their tunes. I think he is an excellent singer! Glenn Fields on drums also keeps them solidly on track....thanks Glenn! I look forward to seeing you guys again sometime. Perhaps I will just have to come to Louisiana!! The crowd really seemed to enjoy the two sets of music and there was a lot of fun between sets when the band was selling their cd's and begging :) for sales as they had just had to put $1600.00 in repairs ( new tires and ball joints) in their van. The crowd was sympathetic and cd sales seemed to be brisque. I had already purchased their last to albums and so was set for some great listening. I've played them constantly since I picked them up at the fiddle tunes event in Port Townsend. Don't be strangers out here in the Great Northwest.....WE LOVE YOUR MUSIC !!
An amazing band to hear live.
