Drinks Made Easy presents-How to Make a Mojito. SUBSCRIBE:http://bit.ly/1mFXEEe
The Mojito is a truly refreshing and crisp drink that you can enjoy essentially any time of year.
When making a Mojito you need the following:
a pinch of mint
1/2 or 1 lime depending on your lime's ripeness and personal taste
2 oz of White Rum
2 tbs. or 1 oz of simple syrup (you can use store bought Sugar Cane Juice)
a 12-14 oz glass(it can be a collins glass or large tumbler)
a muddler or elongated device with a flat end that fits in a glass
a shaker or glass that can fit over your serving glass.
First, you will want to muddle (bruise not mash) your mint with the juice of one of your wedges of limes. This allows for the oils and the lime to mix together well. Then add the other wedges you want to add (anywhere from 2-3 more depending on your taste preference and ripeness of the lime). Next ad you 2 tbs. or 1 oz of simple syrup/cane juice. You can use 2 tbs. of sugar but that makes the drink kind of crunchy and can take away from the refreshing nature of the drink. Add your Ice and 2 oz. of white rum (if you use dark rum it will make your drink taste muddy-not literally like mud;) and shake. Make sure to shake for about 15-20 seconds so that the rum can mix in with the syrup and muddled lime and mint. Top it off with a generous pour of soda water or seltzer, garnish with a wedge of lime and a coupe leaves of mint and you are ready to enjoy a crisp refreshing drink to beat those hot summer days.
