  • MGM was certainly the leader in higher-quality animated shorts, along with Fleischer Studios.

  • These are the cartoons I had when I was growing up in the 60's. Great stuff!!

  • @mimetope There was PEACE ON EARTH, from 1938-39, and also GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN, an updated version of the same general plot-- But THAT war ends with a mushroom cloud-- From 1955.

  • @mimetope if you get a chance Peace on earth cartoon is usually shown now on Cartoon networks spin off Boomrang especialy Christmas time that when they show that cartoon alot

  • @Kellyannk308 Thanks! I did find it. Yes, it was Peace on Earth. Love that cartoon.

  • @mimetope I think was peace on earth

  • Does anyone remember a Warner Brother Cartoon or MGM cartoon which told the tale of the Last Christmas? It's a narrative and shows how men fought against each other and finally none were left and the Earth was destroyed and left to the animals who started life again. Its starts and ends with a Christmas Carol, I think it was Joy to the World.

I have seen this cartoon just once when I was a child and cant seem to find it anywhere.

  • And, of course, Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies!
