Hello, visitors.

I have uploaded this video in order, to show how economic the Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI can be. The car, which was used to do this test was Skoda Fabia Combi 1.2 TSI 85BHP (weaker version of 1.2TSI).

Now, a few words about the conditions, terrain, weather... The whole distance of the trip was 90 kilometers, the temperature was between 16,5 and 22 degrees. The terrain, which I was driving through was more than bumpy, since there were so many hills then falls and again and again. The car was equipped with 15 inch aluminium rims and the tires were Dunlop SP Sport 195/55 R15. The speed was very different.

I hope, this video will be useful for some of you, who are hesitating whether to buy a TSI or not :) Still, the TDI is an option, but more expensive option.

  • I am considering buying 1,2 tsi Fabia, PLEASE let me know - how is economy on highway when doing 130 km/h, is it also available with 6 gears and is this engine good enough when I need to travel let's say once month some 2000 km (and do over 30-40 k a year)?

  • @kagolko Hello, mate. when you ask me such thing, I have to say, that I have more experience with 85BHP version. So, if you are going to buy this version, then it's a good choice, since it's a compromise between low fuel consumption and efficience. When you drive like 130 km per hour on a highway, then it consumes about 7 liters/100 km. While driving with such speed, inside the car there is quiet enough to talk or listen to the music calmly. It's unavailable with 6 speed transmission.

  • @kagolko When it comes to the 1.2 TSI's durability, there have occured some problems with the turbocharger when the odometer was around 30K kilometers. The car lost it's power and it must have been exchanged with a new one. I do not know, whether it's common issue, or just extraordinary situation.

  • the board computer, can be wrong up to 30%. you must test real fuel consumption

  • @MrPavlisha Yes, I know that. I have uploaded this video in order to show, what values the on board computer displays while you drive very lightly. In VAG group cars, computers mostly deceive you in minus. On the other hand, Hondas computers deceive you in plus.

  • @dychnedychne - thanks a lot man. I really appreciate your answers + I am thinking between 1,8 Honda Civic I-VITEC and 1,2 TSI Fabia. Still can't decide. However if I'll get some fact that "new" 1,2 TSI is not that reliable, I'll most probably go for Civic. Wish you all the best mate. Thanks again!

  • @dychnedychne - yes, I'm after that model with 85 BHP. Thanks a lot for your reply my Polish brother! wish you all the best with your Skoda!

  • better than a diesel, it shows us!!! diesel is not longer eficient after that. Gasoline(benzine) is cleaner after all !!!! diesel has been a dirty strategic selling marketing stuff.

  • @MrPavlisha Waiting for DSG is very very long, probably more than 6 months.

  • @dychnedychne im now drive FIAT Stilo 1.9 JTD. He deceive me in plus about 10%. Real consumption comb. is about 5.9 litres. and i am very pleased with it. :)

i was look this because i am thinking about my ex i maybe future car Fabia :). but now with DSG transmision.

excuse mi english is very bad :)
