I wish GM would bring the 3.8 liter back. I learned to drive in an '84 Olds (FWD 3800), my first car was a '81 Cutlass (RWD 3.8L carbureted) and my current car is a '05 Impala LS (3800 Series II). My other favorite motor is the LT1 in my Roadmaster wagon.

just so you know the LQ1 was about as bad as you can get. The LQ1 is just GM's way of making a cheap DOHC V6. its just a regular 3.4L with DOHC heads onit. it still has the cam and everything in there. (its not a cam anymore but just a shaft that runs the oil pump. you also still have the holes to put your lifters and everything. There is a reason why nobody makes after market parts for the LQ1 it was a failed design. it only lasted 6 years to the Buicks 3.8's twenty plus years.
