Fatal Pedestrian Collision

On Thursday, August 27, 2009 at approximately 9:45 p.m., a 34 year old male was struck by a vehicle and subsequently died of his injuries in a parking lot near 99 Street and Jasper Ave. A confrontation had taken place in the parking lot between the deceased and an adult female. The confrontation led to the female entering the passenger door of a dark colored, possibly black, mid sized vehicle being driven by an unidentified male. The victim began to strike the mid sized vehicle with his hands and feet. The vehicle backed up from a parked position and while backing, struck the male knocking him to the ground. The male was treated for his injuries by EMS, but was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female involved reportedly exited the vehicle either at 100 Street and Jasper Avenue or on Grierson Hill.

Police are again requesting anyone with information on the suspect vehicle and/or those involved to call Crime Stoppers.
