Happiest Place CowBoy tune

Living simply and letting go of material things can bring much happiness Cow Boy learns at Deer Park. Especially with the help of friends! This song is inspired by zen master Thich Nhat Hanh's teaching that painful feelings and thoughts can also be cows which should be gently released; the art of transforming compost into flowers. If our inner 5 year old child is hurt, we can help him/her heal. With practice anyone can find the happiest place inside.
Thanks to teachers and Deer Park friends on the path of mindful living for watering happy seeds in myself and others.

These lyrics trouble me--aren't cows domesticated? Wouldn't they starve and freeze and get attacked by wild dog-packs? Shouldn't one keep and take care of one's cows rather than cut them loose at the first sign of your personal discomfort? Perhaps you could change the song so that your cows and your neighbor's cows could have play-dates and stuff--that would be a much happier song.

There is a dharma teaching where cows are metaphorically related to attachments, thus a cause of suffering. Cows can be material items, emotions, thoughts or other attachments, and not literally four legged beings that go "mooo". Perhaps you will find the teaching of the farmer and the Buddha. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Be well

Thanks for sharing your thought. I think most people are capable of letting go of their cows and experiencing true happiness.

Oh gee. I guess I'm just too old. I could never be comfortable with feet and food on the table at the same time.
