I don't really have many friends, and most of them are gay, but I can tell you, those straight guys who were my friends (I'm very far away from them, now) had NO problems or different reactions to me when compared to other guys. One of them was actually my best friend at the time, and we talked about just about everything.
Sometimes we can see things where they don't exist, I've been there. You might want to talk to some of your friends, if you think they're "acting" around you.

Absolutely. I am gay and two of my best friends in the whole wide world are straight. i am able to go around them and be myself, bring a a guy around im dating, ect.. and its not an issue. now dont get me wrong, im just talking from personal experience and i know not all straight men are like this but yeah its def possible. i would even go so far as to say that as a gay man i have more in common with my straight friends than i do my gay friends

I recently moved to a new city and have been navigating friendships with guys who don't know my history. Fortunately, the few str8 men of color that I've been meeting respect women, aren't consumed by sports, don't display homophobic behavior, and are generally social justice minded. This is partially explained by my meeting them through my progressive gay friends. How did you meet these str8 men? Can you meet str8 men in your progressive circles? You will probably have more in common w them.
