A Passion Play Live 1973 8mm

Yep, that's me in the photo...with my parents, on a very important day in my life. At the time though all I could think about was that in a few short weeks....the circus was coming to town!
Seriously though the photo is upfront not just because I get to show off my academic prowess and undeniable good looks, at 17, but also in it, is the person that shot this footage,
My mother!!
You might note that the ticket stub (mine) at the end of this film is for a floor seat and this footage was shot from behind the stage. I sat with my friends, one shooting his own footage, and was glad I didn't know my mother was there.
She was very intrigued and suspicious of what went on at these "concerts" (I'd been going to shows from 14 years old!) so she and another adventurous friend of hers went down to the Forum the day of and found a guy selling tickets on the corner of Manchester and Prairie (In a purple hat with a feather in it) and this is not the Brady's neighborhood! $20.00 for a $4.50 ticket each.
Because these women were both in their early 40's, no one at the door even thought to ask "what's in the camera bag?" They were probably the oldest of 19,000!!
My mother became a Tull fan that night. She and her same friend started attending various shows regularly.
This post is a new transfer of something that's been up a while and was synced using 2 VCRs and a cassette player back in 92 (??) and was looking pretty bad. You can compare, as I will leave it up for a while, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znKl3GPbWrw
So I re-shot it and synced it on the computer. The audio is from one of the four nights at the Forum, the film is from the 22nd of July. Hope you enjoy it.
This little movie is dedicated to Patricia, October 1930- February 2009. God bless her loving soul.

Darin, thanks again for another fantastic production by "The Memory Bank" and for generously sharing the wonderful video you filmed all those years ago with Tull fans. Also, good move putting that small watermark through the film. Hopefully you won't have your work taken without permission and used in oafish compilatons like he did with mine from '75. I was always a bit scared of taking photo's & video at concerts after i saw someone get his film ripped out of his camera at a Tull concert at Sunderland empire in the 80's!

years ago which in fact was in the year 1973...i did see the full production of A passion Play at the olde and torn down Buffalo Auditorium in Buffalo NY...
