Twenty-four years after the event, what may be the only amateur video shot of the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion has gone public. A presidential commission resolved the accident took place on a day that was 15-degrees colder than any previous launch ... and that the 36-degree launch-time temperature was a contributing factor. • I dunno, I'm not American, but this allways breaks my heart, seeing it. I know that people die in huge numbers in crazy disasters all over the world but these people had the hopes of a better world on resting on their shoulders. But I also think they would've wanted us to move on. The cancellation of the "Constellation" programme is a huge mistake..!

  • Wow. No respect at all. What the hell is wrong with you?

  • I would have been screaming my fool head off, not talking calmly to George, I'd be, "AHHHH GEORGE OMG the humanity!! The humanity! Ahhh the poor f'n astronauts, OMG! call 911 OMG WTF WTF CALL 911 CALL 911!!!" Rolling on the nice lawn and jumping up and down and crying and ripping George's wrapped bushes apart and basically screaming bloody hell.

  • I'm so glad that my cousin that lives California goes to a school named challenger that honors these people

  • From what movie is this ?

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • Thank you for putting this on here so we can see it.

  • Florida basement? he means Florida attic.

  • I was in 5th grade, in Portland Oregon. My English teacher was the 3rd runner up to be onboard the shuttle. Since she was a participant, we were allowed to watch it in class, instead of learning stuff.. I dont remember exactly the reaction of my fellow classmates, but I knew the second it lit up, that Challenger was no more. I wonder now, if all the things about et's being on the moon to be true, if this was a warning not to push them too far. Either way, Peace and Light to those sevenastronauts

  • I was 9 years old in 1986, living in Fort Lauderdale, and all the teachers took us outside to watch the launch as it was clearly visible from where we were. As soon as the smoke lines separated from the shuttle into different groups, and when it was obvious something wasn't quite right, the teachers all told us to hurry inside the school. They thought debris could be coming down and hit anywhere. It was a cold day with perfect blue skies. I'll never forget it.

  • in a Florida basement, you say?
