October 2007
In December 2006, troops took over the streets of Fiji's capital city. It was the island's fourth military coup in 20 years. We take a look at this new regime and find worrying signs of repression. Frank Bainimarama took power amidst promises to clean up the political scene. However, it would appear that his programme has gone astray. "A lot of resentment and fear has crept into the population." Lawyer Graham Leung has taken up the cause for freedom of speech. Alanieta Rabaka welcomes his efforts. Her son Sakiusa died after a beating in military custody.

  • @seancorn99. Australia is a country packed with Wogs and Gooks. Aussies cant even afford to buy properties in australia and blame migrants for there misfortune. By 2025 ethnic race will no longer be a minority in most major cities in australia.

  • @tarasc94 and i will say some of the things he is doing are not bad, but by coming in this this undemocratic fashion, thats not fair at all for those of us IN fiji itself who actually want things to change.

and as for that my family who are here in fiji say that this is not a good government, they are scared and

im assuming you're a guy but come on man the fact that the news is censored....that should really reflect the atmosphere of it all, and thats just a little of it

  • @tarasc94 are you getting mad, looks like yu are with that last comment. look my friend i see some of the things he is doing but for the fact that he is in government illegitimately, that is something i cannot. fiji will not be a democratic nation unless, well it is democratically elected. and this man has failed to do so in 2006 and his failed plans for election earlier. as i remember myself FB was against the RTU bill for stating it would encourage those to coup right?...seems hypocritical

  • @izzyvulaca lol i love how you talk about knowledge

this is obviously a biased video, it only looks at one side of the side story so dont tell me about knowledge, you clearly dont no anything

& ok fair enough that is my opinion, but it is based on what my family in fiji (& there is plenty them) have to say. with previous governments that were discriminated against but bainimarama is levelling out the discrimination so i do have knowledge

go enlighten urself before posting smartase comments

  • @tarasc94 i havent gotten 5 minutes into this video and yet

    1. the military scaring their own people with beatings or just their presence even though they have clearly strayed away from the job in which it was first entitled to do during its formation and to the point where 2. people are so scared as to reveal their identity to speak out on this government

knowledge will open your mind up my friend, learn about this instead of just stating a few "opinions"

  • @tarasc94 but his tactics for unconstitutional governing are not

  • @markanthony1920 agreed bro ... He's not like George Speight !!!

  • my condolence to Mrs Rabaka I hope you wont wait long before justice knock's on door.

  • How can you not know what happened to Sakiusa Rabaka...youre the fucking Prime Minister of the country..Thats messed up what happened to Saki, justice will soon grace our land & to those people or soldiers that kill the innocent.
