I went Christmas shopping a few days ago and Big Lots was blowing out all of their Christmas items and their Christmas lights were 50% off so I bought a bunch of their LED lights, including two of the solar LED Christmas lights. I actually bought the solar ones for year round lighting in the backyard. I know they are not too bright, but I figured for $9 each and I can pretty much set it and forget it, I thought it would be fun to toy with (yeah I know I have a warped sense of fun ;-P )
In case anyone was wondering, this was filmed using an iPhone 4.

  • I would also like to mention that it does NOT look like these bulbs are easily replaceable. It looks like you would have to splice a new bulb in if one off the bulbs quits on you. And just so you know they don't give you any spares either. And I'm not sure if the rest of the lights will still work if one of the bulbs go out... and I'm not going to test it either. ;-P
