The Juan Maclean - Argument in Seattle 9/10/08

The Juan Maclean played Seattle's Nectar Lounge. Big dance beats split seams and people got down. There was an argument about in-ear monitors. Drummer Jerry Fuchs talks about his Simmons electric drums. Apparently Maclean left Jerry in Albuquerque, NM. Jerry is none too happy about it.

Also, I should not that they both thought it was hilariously funny that everyone took it so seriously and, when asked would insist that this fight was real.

Of course it wasn't - we had never even been to New Mexico at that point and this video eventually inspired Jerry to get a large MIDI jack tattooed on the back of each of his arms. Anyone who played with Jerry knows that it was HE who insisted on playing without in-ears. It was a point of pride for him. He thought they were "gay."

Jerry is a beast of a drummer! So damned good. Juan would be hard pressed to find a replacement and the Juan Maclean's live performances wouldn't be the same without this man on deck killin' it. Awesome post!

In light of recent events and as someone who was playing in the band at the time I feel like it's important to clarify that was all a joke and should not be taken evidence, in any way, that Juan is a "douche" or a "dick." If anything it is evidence of their profound and long friendship and shared, unique sense of humor.
