I'm Claude's neice "Renee'" and he did such a great job in the video and in person, then followed up the next year and was just as good with a new CD. Wanted to mention as well, James Burton is back behind Uncle Claude and Donna Ray. Can't wait until he does it again. Thanks for the video.

If you go to ReverbNation (Facebook's music website) and search for Claude King's nephew, "Chris Aable", you'll find he's recorded a wonderful song entitled "Claude King" that is just as epic and wonderful as his Uncle's hit.  The Song details King's whole life and mentions his wife Barbara, their farm and their three sons. There's even mention of another "King" - Elvis Presley, when they both played at the Louisiana Hayride on TV.

wow paul I will definetly ask him. funny how you mentioned this about clause, johnny horton auditioned for my daddys band and my dad told him the hillbilly stuff he was playin would never make it in the buisness,,, 6 months later johnny was on the charts,, my dad was so shocked but they became good friends later......

Hey ,I played with Claude King in the 60's at a place called The Rockin R Ranch in Cochrane Ontario. Canada. I think he would want to forget that gig cause nobody got paid. We all got bum cheques.

Anyway I played with the great Claude King on the same stage. He asked my banjo player Ron LaRue (politely) not to play the 5 string cause his type of music wasn't blue grass. I wonder if he remembers? Great memories.
