She didn't call anyone a "Chink" or "Wetback" or "Nigger". She just used a word. Be an adult and suck it up. Have you never heard that word before? I see an incredible amount of immaturity here. What immigrants did to the Native Americans was WAY larger than Hitler did to the Jews. Trail of Tears? Ever heard of that? Her analogy is not too far off.

It's not just word. If words were "just words" then language would be meaningless. With that said, her use of the word was a minor transgression that -in my opinion- does not take away from the strength and accuracy of her point. Language is about relationship, not the freedom to use whatever word someone else uses without consequences connected to the identities involved and the situation at hand. . If you ain't Native American, you can express your intent, but you can't control the impact.

Trying to make the saying of "nigger" a capital offense is a movement of fairly recent vintage, ginned up by black militants and White liberals who want to shut everyone up who doesn't agree with them. So I can't say "nigger," but you can call me "honkey" or "cracker" all you want? I don't think so! I don't bandy it around in front of just anyone, but if I want to say it, I say it.

Wow. It's hard to believe that almost every small minded person's arguement against Native Americans is alcoholism and poverty. All of that side, I don't see the issue of Native American themed sports team names. I'm Native American and I reside on a reservation where a school's team name is the "Warriors". Interestingly enough, there are two white teams located in border towns that are also called the "Warriors". We have no problem with it, and no one else should.
