This short clip was shot at Atlanta's Woodward Academy late Spring 2009. Special Thanks to WWA for granting access to the SPES technology team so we could research the importance of adding Promethean Boards to the SPES tech inventory (although this video shows a competing product, the Smart Board, the features are similar). I think the important thing about this video is the level of enthusiasm the students show for the subject matter. Tell me, have you ever seen ten-year-olds this interested in dissecting similes vs. metaphors? (Not to mention the virtual frog!)

  • @1:08 My science teacher used that activity! It was so fun to use!! :P

  • Ok, similar concept, however this is not a Promethean Board. This is a Smart Board. In Atlanta Public Schools there is a preference for Promethean Boards. Since this is tagged to Springdale Park Elementary, it is important to note that every classroom has been outfitted with one of the latest & greatest Promethean ACTIVBoard models. The power though, is not in the board necessarily, but in the software which brings the board to life.
