@aperfectfailyour there's no crazy government conspiracies going on...just a bunch of clueless people trying to do their menial tasks like typing up press releases and dressing them up so they don't sound horrible and cause widespread panic. The problem is they half ass it a lot of the time and no one wants to claim responsibility for anything, so no one talks about it. I can tell you this from experience because I work for the machine...its not organized enough to conspire.

@skierdude95 does the whole world watch history channel? and thanks to history channel they helped uncover it.
-
@aperfectfailyour If it was entirely a secret, the History channel would not be doing a session about it.

I'm sure stuff like this still happens... maybe we'll read about it when our kids are grown ups

At that time, I was a 13 year old boy enjoying the summer about 40-50 miles from there in So. San Gabriel. I never knew this happened before now. I hope the wind was blowing the other way! Oh well, it is a little late for me to worry now.

Looks like Boeing can coast now with all the other reactor problems. Their sign offs are probably in their back pockets with Japan and the reactor in St Louis.

I'm sick, seeing this. Of course no one talks about it! I wonder if there is a bigger incidence of cancers in this area surrounding Santa Susanna in recent years? Tragic, just awful.

And there we have it: The AEC, now NRC - servant of the atomic industry. Remember them? In the 1970ies they advised their workers not to ask sceptic questions. Their whole concept baed upon the Rasmussen study - a heavily flawed study and criticised by the Union of Concerned Scientists. Atomic power plants were invented to produce Plutonium, never forget that people. That's their origin. They are totally new kind of violence - against their own people.

@imacleod1977 exactly, protective gear, but they DO NOT GO WITHIN 30 FEET OF THE CORE!!!! like, how can u think radiation is harmless? isnt the idea of them needing protective gear, rad detectors and special training would give you a clue to it being harmless, yet u still appear to think that it is harmless, but i dont see YOU inside the sarcophagus. i see that you also refuse to acknowledge any of my points on how deadly it is. instead ur still demanding sites. obvious sign u know ur wrong
I bought a house in Canoga Park six months ago and none of this was disclosed to me. I just heard about it from a neighbor last week. Great.
