Filmmaker and firefighter Lou Angeli takes his camera beyond the yellow tape and into the heart of a structure fire. It's red, hot and wet. Enjoy! Thanks to all of the departments who participated in helping to make this short clip the most viewed on this channel. (video by Lou Angeli)

  • do many people die in the fire service due to house fires or any other calls??? please answer

  • @grimbomufc09 An average of 100 firefighters die in the line of duty each year,

  • er, are american firetrucks specially made for firefighting? would be nice, if someone would answer me.

  • @BenAranMetroidkiller Now that I've answered you -- I believe you're referring to the chassis and perhaps body. Purpose-built or custom chassis are the norm for large city and suburban departments. In rural areas the firetrucks are often manufactured on a commercial chassis such as an International, Kenworth, Ford or GMC. Those chassis have a variety of other uses.

actually, the 3 main ways that many firefighters die are from

    1: Heart attacks from stress

    2: Responding (if volunteer)

3: road closures (being hit by on coming cars)

Of course this could be arguable but that is what I was told

  • I am about the become a volunteer firefighter in Tremont, Maine, there are only about 20 people on the Tremont fire dept.

  • Sometimes the damage is greater after the fire since we have to strip the building just in case of a few missed embers or something that could re-ignite; this will just depend on the area effected.

  • 1:07 put your chin strap on. It goes on your chin, not tucked in behind your head.hence the name...

  • thank for the service guys

  • hero's

  • At 1:08 the dude lost his helmet. No excuse for that. Before he loses it you can see he has the chin strap across the back. Use your equipment properly for it to work right. It is a good view of inside though.

  • Chinstrap.

  • @DOINstuffAwesomely Hope you are having the time of your life. I hope to one day become a firefighter myself.
