Hi everybody, this is me performing (or rather trying to) Telemann's F Minor Sonata. Sorry about the begining but I was a bit nervous. Please give your opinion.

  • I don't know where people are getting this, but this piece was written for flute, not bassoon

  • Lastly, think like a bassoon player! Especially considering the piece was originally written for bassoon, to really perform the music to its fullest potential, as the performer, you need to make more distinction in your articulation. Make sure you slur where you're supposed to, then be more separate and articulate elsewhere

I hope this critique was helpful to someone in some way, even though the video is nearly 3 years old.

  • Additionally, minor mistakes aside, one thing that kind irks me about this performance is the lack of Dynamics throughout. Make your pianos pianissimo and your fortes fortissimo. Especially considering the composer wrote in TONS of dynamics all over the place.

Also, in the faster portions, try not to crunch notes together, let each note sing and be played for its full value, this is especially noticeable in the second movement bars 36-49 and 67-77.

  • I enjoyed this recording a lot, this is probably one of the better recordings out there of this arrangement. Though the final movement may have been a little fast for the taste of some trombone players, I felt that your tempo sat well with the piece. The trills in the first movement are really nice, but it seems just a tad excessive (though I believe in the original for bassoon/recorded had them written in) I performed this piece two years ago and I'm using it again as an audition piece. Love it

  • AWESOME. LOL. i never knew u could play this piece with tuba ._.

  • Not bad at all. I practiced this but never took it to U.I.L. I would get too nervous. But i was pretty good.

  • Good sound :D i playing sonnata but in trombone

  • It was a little messy at points like some parts were hard to hear. But that was great overall. Truthfully, leave the trills out in the 1st movement. It sounded like they shouldn't be there because this is the calm, smooth section. Great job!
