With a series of winter storms affecting the West Coast from Southern California up to Central Oregon, From January 11, 2010 to January 19, 2010 strong storm force winds created long period swells creating monstrous waves along the Pacific's West Coast! We headed down south to a surf spot that was blowing offshore to see how big the surf really was. We could see the waves breaking over the sandbars of the spit from about 1-2 miles away! We knew the surf was going to be huge but didnt realize it until after we finally reached the mouth of the Klamath River located in Northern California. The waves were in excess of 30 feet in height. The shorebreak was close to 12 feet. The swell was coming in at the southwest. The offshore winds were gusting around 25 M.P.H. We hung out for about a hour just watching the waves rolling into the beach. Defiantly worth the trip down south to watch this! These waves were HUGE!

  • @frogboi666 We just have miles of unpopulated coastlines. Lots of breaks with nothing but the sealife.

  • I'm not a surfer, but I'm pretty sure this says it's during a WINDER STORM. So the smart surfers are probably preparing for that.

  • @Tempe1998 you have gotta remember that the vid is taken in america and they are a bit soft over there!
