Winner of the 2002 "Taiwan Architecture Prize" Winner of the 2003 Far Eastern Architect Awards The Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology was designed by Architect Sun Te-hung. The design of the buildings that make up the Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology was based on ideas relating directly to archaeological excavation and the fact that our ancestors reached Taiwan in boats they sailed across the ocean. The Museum is made up of three distinctive building groups, representing mountains, the ocean and the past/present. The materials used included exposed concrete, sandstone and highly plastic titanium alloy.
