God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts to us in our pain, through his megaphone to rouse a deaf world................................The blows of his chisel which hurt us so much are what make us perfect. CS Lewis
@MCulpa " reaffirm Christ's historicity as a figure. Christ existed"
Which "Christ? - Lol!
"Christ" means "the annointed" or "savior" - It was used to describe every damn shaman and messiah, throughout the hellenistic world that was expected to turn up for the superstitious.
Josephus' account in antiquities, for instance, was an obvious forgery, but in other texts, he claimed Emperor Vespasian as "Christ".
Other "Christs" were Seraphin, Dionysis,, Mythrias - and many more.
@MCulpa "Josephus, Mara bar Serapion, Suetonius, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Lucian, and Alexamenos Graffito, all 0-100 ad era figures, reaffirm Christ's historicity as a figure"
No they didn't! - Pick one of two of your favourites and I'll show you why. - I don't want to be wasting time debunking them all......
Josephus, Mara bar Serapion, Suetonius, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Lucian, and Alexamenos Graffito, all 0-100 ad era figures, reaffirm Christ's historicity as a figure. Christ existed, his twelve apostles existed, and every single one of them would have rather died than deny their eyewitness of his resurrection.
No one can escape pain, but that doesn't mean we must be dominated by it, those who can withstand pain and still have the strength of smiling, of having hope that maybe tomorrow might be a brighter day, in my humble opinion those are the kings and queens of this world. However let's not forget that HE is always there to help us, after all HE is the one who defeated DEATH!!!! and ripped to shreds the gates of hell.
@youtu33time "there is good evidence and analysis in the book ."
Then present some!!
Trot it out and let's have a look at this "Good" evidence? - Don't keep speculating about my personal reasons for rejecting what you can't rationally justify! - What you haven't even yet offered!
Where are these good reasons to accept the gospel stories as historical fact?
Why, for example, are you convinced that something, as unlikely as resurrection from the dead, actually happened ?
