In this example, the price list is in one workbook, and the VLOOKUP formula is in the order data entry workbook. It is easier to create the reference if both Excel workbooks are open when you create the VLOOKUP formula. After you create the VLOOKUP formula, the price list workbook can be open or closed, and the formula will continue to work correctly.

Thank you for the video. It really helped a lot. I have a question though. I have two excel documents. One is a master file that only I open and work on. The other is a document with formula that people can open and search for data in my master file.
That said, can the document that others use be opened simultaneously at different computers at the same time? or no? Thanks
