This is stupid. I dont have much money at the moment so I have to buy some of my video games used and xbox 360 is so expensive with gold membership and ad ons. I finally got battlefield 3 and now I cant play online with my friends with out that stupid pass. Im using the pirate bay for their next game and will start playing call of duty.

@MckinneyMini Of course you could get independent games, from very old outdated software that looks like Super Nintendo graphics. People make those for free all the time, but you really wan't me to hear the gripes about money from Corporations who have monopolized their industry? One where a truly independent developer, not a sub branch of a larger one, can produce a game? No, i'd rather not, when their gross fiscal incomes are actually not 10% increases from every previous year before it.

@MckinneyMini You didn't see companies like Rare disappear because of the second hand used game market. You saw them disappear because their games started to suck. Also the fact that most of the gaming corporations who do the biggest whining, bought all these small developers up to monopolize the industry into a corporate structure. A small developer can't even GET into the industry any more, if you don't go threw one of the main developers your not going to fund a project.

@MckinneyMini Game developers aren't dealing with a new problem. The problem is they have a highly addictive product with easy gratification. Movies can't provide the interactive enjoyment games can for many people. Which is why they're used sales do so well. Most games now days that aren't RPG's have campaigns that last 25 hours or less. They have newer and better technology, yet for some reason game developers don't have enough money? Even though they are continually growing?

@MckinneyMini But that honestly isn't even the issue here, the issue is your brother thinks you all have a right to interfere in the second hand market. It doesn't matter if used game sales have been hurting the industry, the fact is the second hand market is LEGAL. And your brother and developers are punishing people for making LEGAL PRIVATE transactions, which in its self should be ILLEGAL. Honestly its like I said, it is like content being cut from a movie for it being bought used.

@MckinneyMini Apologies I men't to say "60 dollars people WOULDN'T buy used".

@MckinneyMini Probably because a used car has a vast more amount of value and worth then a piece of entertainment =\ . Games are compared to movies they are digital works of art not automobiles. If a movie sucks and is sold used, and some one buys it oh well. Same applies to video games, maybe if they weren't 60 dollars people would buy used. I won't take 54.99 either. Tell your brother that, k thanks.

it seems that ea is just ENCOURAGING us to pirate their games
Oh and P.S it's been almost 2 years...how did your boycott go? lol...those rarely work for major companies like this....

To date, I have yet to buy an online pass and I encourage others to do the same. I don't care if "it worked" or not. I stand my ground and call for other gamers to do the same.
So when the developers and studios ruin retail gaming and put hundreds of thousands of people out of work I'll know I did what I thought was right and spoke my mind as much as I could. It's not about "Winning" it's about doing what I feel is right.

The reason you don't like it is because you sell used games lol. So, honestly it affects you more than the consumer. As a consumer I should be paying the full price for the game honestly. That is why Developers get pissed at Gamestop and places like that because someone buys the game full price launch day, beats it in 10 -20 hours and then sells it back to the used store and someone else buys a game that just launched for $10 less, but its hardly even used. You don't see that with other markets

You're wrong. it turns out that It has virtually no effect on me as a business owner at all. I buy the games cheaper and sell them cheaper. they still come in regardless. It hurts the person who buys them new and then tries to find value in them later.
I know developers too. I have friends with Sega, EA Tiburon, and Capcom. They all do very well.
No, I make my comments as a gamer. plain and simple. This system hurts the consumer.

Oh! BTW, if developers would make games with replay value, they wouldn't see people trading them in after 10 hours of gameplay. Don't go blaming the consumer when studios toss out games that are as shallow as a puddle and then get mad that people aren't keeping them. I challenge any current Gen FPS to show me it has as much substance as an older title like Timesplitters 3. or Skyrim for that matter (which isn't traded all that often because it offers WEEKS of gameplay)

Boycotts wont work.
Heres the problem, game companies have these things called "fanboys". "Fanboys" will make excuses and defend ANYTHING and will say ANYTHING. If I had a penny for every time I heard the lines "Ea is a buisness and they have to make money" and "Servers cost money stop complaining" I would have enough pennies to buy microsoft.
Its over. Online passes are going to happen and theres nothing you can do. Just find a new hobby or buy nintendo.

@Muscleman1388
your attitude toward the situation is just as bad as a fanboy's is.
Maybe there is no changing it. but that doesn't mean I wont be educating my fellow gamers, taking a stand, and speaking out whenever possible.
If everyone just gave up because they thought there was nothing they could do. then nothing would ever get accomplished.
