I'd like to have an Elder Scrolls game where the main conflict isn't going to destroy everything everywhere. It's always nice to play supreme hero, but having done it in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, I feel like destroying a conspiracy from the shadows would be a nice little balance.

The reason why it is all covered in ash is because the Red Mountain erupted and covered all of Vvardenfell, most of Solsthiem, and the Northern part of Morrowind with ash.

For a setting that would be easy to just shit out a white field and say "Well it's snowy", the environments are pretty good, is what I'm saying. Oblivion took what was supposed to be jungle-Venice and turned it into Middle Earth, while Skyrim felt as if they had someone care - I felt like it could be a real environment, compared to Oblivion where the generic environments all jutted up against each other, being different enough that you recognize "Oh I'm in a new place," but still super generic.
