we often use bentonite slurrys for directional boring its pumped in with the boring rod to stablize the hole behind the machine its very messy but extremely effective. i dont do much of that stuff it falls in the category of telecommunication and electrical duct work which isnt really my thing. ill stick with sewer, water, and storm drain, where if were boring something its BIG

omg dont even get me started with that lol cause that happened to my company when turninng wet lands into a soccer field cuz the place where we got the sand and clay wasnt mixed right so it didnt set right and then we hadd put maraffie (not sure how to spell it) paper before the sand and the the loam over the sand and then past summmer we find out the fields getting wet again and a whole bunch of problems so now they got to go back and fix all of it

It's a special type of clay that is excellent for sealing ponds. The geotextile is because the very bottom was a bit muddy and it prevents the liner from getting pushed down and tearing when we spread dirt on top.

Wouldn't something like the skid steer be faster, or is that stuff heavy?

skidsteer can't lift that much weight on a sideslope like that. Or travel sideways. They usually use a zoom-boom/telehandler if the slope isn't so steep.
